Cheap Easy Chicken Corn Chowder Recipe

The other night I was feeling a little lazy,
and nothing sounded good for dinner....
(come to find out, I was coming down with the cold my baby has)
ANYWAYS,

So I decided to make some homemade corn chowder.
I had never mad corn chowder, but if you have chicken stock....you can make basically any soup!

Here is the recipe I came up with,
it tasted so yummy.
My husband and my baby boy LOVED it....hope you do too!

Easy Chicken Corn Chowder
2 cups milk
2 cups chicken broth/stock
1 can cream corn
1 can corn (drained)
2 carrots (chopped)
1 huge potato (chopped)
1 large chicken breast (uncooked)
1 cup instant potatoes
salt/pepper/garlic to taste

Steps:
Put the raw chicken and everything else in the pot and cook on very low for 1 hour...
or until chicken is cooked and veggies are perfectly cooked.
Stir a few times throughout that hour....
Enjoy!

Before/during bedroom makeover

Yesterday I was looking through some old pics and found the one I
took of our Son's room before
we even made an offer on the home!
Yay...I thought I
had never taken one.
So here is the before and during pics:
Before, blue walls and ceiling w clouds painted on top

During makeover, after painting was finished

Our son's room, half way done.....

I just realized that we don't have any before pictures of
our Son's room...
Disappointing, but here is a quick description:
light blue walls and ceiling with white clouds painted everywhere!
So basically the ENTIRE room was blue...with clouds.
the ceiling has not been painted yet, so here is the only "before"
picture I have...just imagine this everywhere!

Ceiling before the new paint, also needs a light/fan fixture installed

Doorway into room

We painted the room
a nice neutral tan color...
this was the paint the guy at the Sherwin Williams gave us for free!
Someone else bought 5 gallons of it, and decided
they did not want it, so they brought it back.
and their loss was our gain!

I love how much sunlight his room gets!
Also, his crib is in our room still...in case you were wondering where
he sleeps.
I love the large framing around the windows and that
the windows are low enough for him
to look out.
The door to his closet is super old, and has one
of those crystal door handles!
Also, look at that real wood floor...LOVE!
We are going to get some
window covers and some pictures on the wall soon.
But we are half way done....!

Dining Room Before

So, the dining room did not need any immediate attention before
we moved in...
The walls were a decently neutral color and the light fixture
was still hanging from the ceiling!

We were given the dining room table by the same family that
so nicely gave us the amazing couches.
The table seats 4, so we still needed something a little larger since we like to
have people over for dinner.
Well luckily the same lady that had the "free" Christmas tree sitting at the end of her driveway
(which adorned our living room this year)
asked if we could also use a 6 top dining table.
Yes Please!
That table is sitting in our shed until we can get some extra man
power to help move this one over to the other room.
The table you see in the picture will be Shaun's new desk until we find a desk
for super cheap....or on the side of the road!
I have not done any decorating in the dining room yet, unless you count that sheet
that we thumb-tacked in the window or the Christmas cards hanging on the
closet door.....
PS-the hutch you see in the background of the dining room is from
an estate sale....I waited until the last day of the sale, so everything was 1/2 off....
that hutch was $20 bucks!
Now if I just had something to put in it

I hope to have window coverings of some sort up very soon, and maybe
a few pics.
Now that I think of it,
I'm not really sure how to decorate a dining room
Dining room before any decorating

Current dining room table, the 4th chair is at our "desk"

That is our "desk" in the background....it is actually a buffet
