Nursery...in the works

Baby brother will be here soon,
3 weeks 'til due date...but I am guessing he is not
gonna wait that long.
I finally finished the button initial for him
to go along with our first sons "C"

PS-I decided to stay with the Lime green, dark brown, beige
color palate for the room!

To make one of these...all you need is:
a canvass (I used a 12X12 size)
Buttons
Fabric
glue gun
needle and thread

Steps:
lay the buttons out of the fabric,
lightly glue them to the fabric,
sew them to the fabric,
glue the fabric to the back of the canvass
VOILA!

Cost:
Canvass- $4 (used half off coupon at joanns)
Fabric-$.99 (used half off coupon at joanns)
Buttons- $3 (used half off coupon at joanns)
TOTAL $8

Mud Room

Last Week I went to visit my Grandma in
Cheyenne.  I took my Son and we went with my Mom..
and when we got back home, I found the mud room
all perfectly painted.
My husband had painted it while we were away!

We had decided on a very neutral warm color
called Blonde by Sherwin Williams.
It makes the room so bright and sunny during the
day and warm and cozy as the setting sun reflects off
the walls in the evening.
It is amazing how some simple paint can change
the whole facade of a room....PS-decor will come soon!

Here is the Before and After!

BEFORE: the paint was too similar to the Huge trim, and did not show off the 101 year old character of the home

AFTER: Sherwin Williams "Blonde"
AFTER: to make trim stand out, make sure to use a paint color that is not too similar to the color of the trim
AFTER: (sorry, bad shadowing from the sun)
