Nursery revamp

When we lived at my parents house,
Our first babies nursery was seafoam green, white and brown/black.

I thought I wanted to keep the same color scheme for the new room...
but as I have been compiling new decor items
I have kinda changed my mind.

I think I want to go with the colors in the awesome new rug we have put in that room.
It will be more of a vintage vibe.
This means I have a few extra projects to do in order to get the room
ready (and we have less than 8 weeks til baby #2).

TO DO LIST
  • The button initial "C" I made for our first baby will need to have a different background fabric in order to match the rug colors. (AKA complete redo)
  • Paint the thrift store frames to match the darker wood of the dresser and changing table
  • Make a new button initial plaque for the baby....so we need to finalize a name choice!

Thrift store REAL wood frames....$3 each

"C" that needs new background fabric to match new room colors

The pile of projects that is getting larger each day....

My vintage patio table and chairs

Back in October I found an awesome
white metal vintage patio set
at an Estate Sale!
I had wanted one of these
patio sets for a very long time
but before October we didnt have a patio of
our own to put it on.

And now that the sun is giving us some warm weather
in Colorado, I decided to fix up the set!

I am going to paint the table and chairs a teal blue!

The cushions were weathered and torn a bit,
so I found some old unused fabric
at a thrift store to recover them with.

I love the vintage print on the "new" fabric I found, and I think
it will look so cute once the table is painted.

Cost of the project:
Table with 6 chairs-$20 (estate sale)
Fabric for recovering cushions-$1 (thrift store)
Spray paint for repainting table-$3 (walmart)

TOTAL $24

Here is the project thus far......

BEFORE: 6 weathered cushions next to the "new" fabric

BEFORE: laying the cushions out on the "new" fabric, so I could cut the correct size
AFTER: cushions were recovered with vintage fabric from a thrift store
AFTER: 6 ready-for-bbq-season cushions!

Toy Takeover Makeover

The toys were beginning to take over the living
room coffee table....
And I just happened to find this new little basket at
the thrift store today for $1!

The little wooden trunk was
something Shaun picked out
at an Estate Sale for $9!
SO,
The board books went into the basket,
and some of the toys went into the trunk.

Also, the coffee table was a thrift store find for $1.98

before...messy

AFTER...now the toys have a home!

After...now the books have a home!

Now the room looks a little less messy...and all for around $12 bucks!
