Easy as CRC / How to Decoupage anything

I went to Hobby Lobby looking for some
letters to help decorate Caden's room.

I asked one of the store associates where the
letters were, and she said they
had different kinds of letters all over the store.

SHE WASNT KIDDING!
They had Large wood letters that were already painted,
they had wood letters that were stained,
they had large metal letters that had lights aroung them,
they had metal galvanized letters,
they had cardboard letters,
etc etc.

I loved the metal galvanized letters,
but I didnt want to pay $30 each letter,
since it wasn't the focus piece of the room.

So I went wit the $2.99 wood letters,
and decoupaged the 2 "C's" and painted the "R"

Decoupaging is a super cheap way to
customize anything from wooden letters to
an old thrifted lampshade
(Yes, me and an old roommate did that with clippings we
found in old magazines, and it looked awesome!)
AND DECOUPAGING IS EASY,
Check it out:

12" Wooden letters

Trace the letter onto the paper you want to attach to the wood

Cut out the paper letter that you traced

Paint the edges of the letters before you Paint on a layer of Mod Podge to the wood letter

place the paper letter on top of the wet mod podge, let that dry and than do a final sealing layer on top of the paper

Get inspiration from anything...I got the inspirtion for this "R" in an elle decor magazine. That is a picture of a book cover!

I also did a final sealant layer over the painted "R", so it would have the same "shiny" finish.

Total Cost:
$8.97 (3 wood letters)
$.50 (striped scrapbook paper)
$0 Paint was from projects I did years ago
$0 modge podge was from old projects I did about 8 years old

TOTAL $9.47
