The previous owners painted over several layers of wall paper
which looks horrible.
There are lines everywhere!
There were a lot of options that we could
have used to fix this
issue.
*New Mud over the walls (possible problem-too heavy and eventually peel off)
*new drywall (Possible problem-Cost)
*sand the walls a bit and than mud the walls(possible problem-Fear of lead paint being exposed)
*Cover the walls with beadboard wainscotting (problem-The quote for that job was a lot more than I expected)
My Mother-in-laws Boyfriend John suggested
accenting the lines...
It was the perfect idea!
IF YOU CANT BEAT EM, JOIN EM!
So, I decided to cover the wall paper lines with pinstripes.
I just needed to paint the walls and than do the pinstripes second....
Well the paint I bought a few months ago
was a creamy yellow, which no longer matched the
mood or decor I wanted the room to have.
So i took it back to Sherwin Williams and
asked them if they could change it to a medium gray shade.
(Insert 50 shades of gray joke)
They added as much black tint as they could without
the paint over flowing and
I took it home.
So, by accident the gray color in Shiloh's room is a custom color...ha
I painted the walls w 2 coats and than let it dry a full 24 hours before
adding the pinstripes.
Instead of painting pinstripes,
(Which I have heard is hell)
I used some vinyl tape AKA electrical tape.
this is the perfect decor option for
anybody who is renting,
or anybody who wants a super easy way to
change the walls in a room.
There are endless options for the designs you can do
with electrical tape.

How much better does this gray look compared to that dinghy white color it was before? |

I love the gray paint with the bright white trim and door..ignore that ceiling light haha |

At first I did all the same size stripes, but wasnt too fond of it...so I made some of them wider |

Every other stripe is twice as wide...I like it better than having them all the same size |
Who knew $3.98 worth of tape would
be the answer to fixing the wall paper lines?
